π£ LATEST LAKE POWELL REPORTSΒ
The latest reports from RMA members on the water.
Fishing action was moderate today on Lake Powell, with fish being found in several areas around the new Bullfrog Marina location.
A number of smallmouth were caught while working the shoreline around the new Bullfrog Marina location. Several different presentations produced fish, but the most effective bait was the Yamamoto 176 Single Tail Grub.
Five smallmouth were kept, with multiple additional fish released. The key was covering water β anglers had to work the shoreline up and down to find active fish rather than staying in one spot.
Striper action was heavy around the houseboat buoy field, particularly in the area between the houseboats and the shoreline on the marina side.
Heavy spoons were effective, and several small "boils" were observed in the area. Anglers were able to take advantage of these feeding fish when they surfaced.
Two walleyes were caught in the same general area while fishing soft baits.
The fish are there, but anglers may need to move and cover water to stay on them. The shoreline around the new Bullfrog Marina location produced smallmouth, while the houseboat buoy field offered strong striper activity and some walleye opportunity.
Lake Powell is showing a mix of opportunities right now β keep moving, watch for surface activity, and be ready to change presentations.

Fishing Area: Forgotten Canyon
Launch: New Bullfrog Boat Ramp
Target Species: Smallmouth Bass, Striped Bass & Walleye
Fishing was generally slow today in Forgotten Canyon, but some smallmouth were caught by pitching Yamamoto 176 around the rock piles.
The rock piles in the canyon are now very limited, but where they were available, pitching the Yamamoto 176 produced some fish.
The largest smallmouth was approximately 3 pounds.
The bigger fish tended to be holding in deeper water off the rock piles, often more than 10 feet away from the rocks. This was different from the typical pattern with this technique, which usually produces fish within about 5 feet of the rock pile.
Fishing continued after dark from 9:00 PM until midnight, using green LED lights off the back of the houseboat.
We caught several striped bass and one walleye while fishing between approximately 20 and 50 feet.
Anchovies and a jig head were used during the night bite.
Daytime: Fishing was generally slow, but Yamamoto 176 produced smallmouth around the remaining rock piles in Forgotten Canyon. The largest was approximately 3 pounds, with bigger fish holding farther off the structure and in deeper water than normally expected.
Nighttime: Green LED lights off the back of the houseboat produced several striped bass and one walleye between 20β50 feet, using anchovies and a jig head.

Time on the water: 4:00 PM β 6:00 PM
Launch: New Bullfrog Boat Ramp
Fishing Area: Moki Canyon
A productive evening of smallmouth fishing produced 10 fish, with the largest weighing approximately 3 pounds. Two additional fish were around 2 pounds, with the remaining fish somewhat smaller.
Most of the fish were caught in Moki Canyon, pitching up against rocky shorelines.
The day started with Berkley Flat Nose Minnows, followed by several other soft-bait minnows.
The bite picked up after switching to Yamamoto 176, with both single-tail and double-tail versions producing fish.
We launched from the new Bullfrog boat ramp, which was easily deep enough for launching today.
We are currently at the new Bullfrog Marina, which has been moved over by Hulls.
